“LOOK OUT BELOW!” is the cry as Abbas Ibn Firnas yells out to Sir Ben Kingsley’s character in the award-winning 1001 Inventions Library of Secrets introductory film.

With it, 200 more journeys through the Islamic Golden Age begin at 1001 Inventions, adding to the 2 million plus visitors already through. This time, the exhibition takes centre stage at the Abu Dhabi Science Festival in the UAE. Atlas AV have worked extensively with Beck Interiors, the fit out contractors, and 1001’s designers, to provide the entire high quality AV platform.

Following successful residencies in London, Istanbul, New York and Los Angeles, where it has enjoyed glorious reviews, 1001 Inventions has launched a bi-lingual Arabic-English touring exhibition in response to persistent public demand. The new exhibition was showcased at a grand opening event under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.

It is cared for by an independent charity, Historic Royal Palaces, which receives no funding from the Government or the Crown.

The exhibition contains AV hardware exclusively supplied by Atlas AV. It features a 10,000 lumen projector in the main theatre, enhanced with a stunning surround sound system that grabs the full attention of the visitor as they arrive. This provides the perfect introduction for what they are about to experience. Within the main hall Atlas AV’s hardware is blended seamlessly into Beck Interiors stunning set work providing an audio visual interactive experience whilst keeping the traditional look and feel of the exhibition.

An array of traditional equipment including 40” touch screens, handsets, HD media players and ultra short throw projectors are combined with bespoke elements such as sliding touch screens and rotating globes, blending physical, electronic interaction with video and Audio. Atlas AV’s installation has also taken into account the day-to-day running of the exhibition providing easy control features and maintenance. Atlas AV has now supported 1001 in 5 locations and we continue to support our valued customer.

Thank you for all your assistance in bringing the project to fruition, especially through the drip-feed procurement process. It seems to me that no person in the audio-visual industry ever reaches the top of their profession until they have been locked in a tight space pressing buttons for royalty on the opposite side of the wall. Congratulations on delivering both the royal presentation and those to the public.
